Rocketfish Bluetooth Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Multimedia Pack

Updated on April 15, 2011

I believe the new trend for desktop computers everywhere today is wireless. From the mouse to the keyboard to every other peripheral, all will soon operate on long-lasting batteries without cords, save for the drive itself. If you look at the new iMac, the fancy keyboard is completely wireless as a standard. I’m certain if it is the only Personal Computer on the market to have a wireless keyboard as a feature, but I have no doubt that the wireless keyboard will soon become the new standard.

Until then, all of us should probably convert our soon-to-be antiquated wired keyboards for Bluetooth wireless ones. I just had a chance to sample Rocketfish’s Wireless Multimedia Bluetooth Keyboard and Laser Mouse, and I was pretty impressed with it.

Both the keyboard and the mouse operate off the included USB adapter key that uses WIDCOMM Bluetooth version 5.1. Most Bluetooth devices operate with version 4.0 at best, and the Bluetooth adapter has an impressive range of sixty feet. Not only does the USB key operate the keyboard and mouse, but it will do anything other Bluetooth device as well. So a user has the option to transfer digital media to and from a computer, laptop, or any other Bluetooth product. I haven’t had the chance to test it yet, but I’m wondering if it is compatible with Bluetooth headphones. I don’t see why not.

The Rocketfish Bluetooth Wireless keyboard is thin and stylish, with a nice wrist-resting pad. It has 104 keys, and ten one-touch keys that have multimedia access. For example, there is one key that can open an internet browser, one that can summon help, and one that does email. For those that like to play DVDs off of their computer, there is also Play, Pause, Fast Forward, and Rewind, as well as mute and volume controls. As long as you have the proper window selected, the video controls work pretty well.

The mouse is also pretty impressive as it features scrolling in four different directions. There are also multimedia buttons of Play, Stop, and Forward and Reverse for multimedia controls. Like the keyboard, it also follows the rules of ergonomics as it has rubber side supports.

The Rocketfish Multimedia Bluetooth Keyboard and Mouse kit comes with the Bluetooth adapter, CD software, 4 AA batteries (2 batteries for the mouse, 2 for the keyboard). It can be purchased at the Best Buy site in black, silver, or red for a little under one hundred dollars. Click one of the links below to purchase.
